Yap Day is a festival of sorts for the Yapese people of Yap in Micronesia. It could be likened to a small fair in the USA. The girls are wearing hibiscus skirts dyed vibrant colors.

A beetel nut tree silhouetted against the blue sky. I have also seen it spelled betel; I don’t know which is more correct.

This men's hut was built upon this large rock platform that was built up in the water with rocks and also forms a dock for boats, rafts and canoes used for fishing. There is a short foot bridge made from wood timbers to reach it. The rock steps in the center foreground lead down to the dock platform.
The area around the hut is landscaped with plants and trees. There are pieces of stone money, or raay, leaning against the building foundation.
